Frankenheim Brewery
Under the Banner of the Falcon
In 1873, Heinrich Frankenheim founded a brewery in the heart of the historic city center of Düsseldorf and called it “Zum Falken” (“The Falcon”). This was the beginning of a special beer, the “Frankenheim Alt”. The top-fermented lager specialty known as “Altbier” was so well received that a short while later another brewery was built on Wieland Street in Düsseldorf. In the coming years, Frankenheim Alt became the most consumed Altbier in Düsseldorf and the Rhineland region. Since 2005, the Frankenheim Brewery belongs to the Warsteiner Group.
